2018 Toyota Camry Review

One of the vehicles that defines the affordable midsize sedan on the road today is the Toyota Camry. It’s a car that’s instantly recognizable, sets the standard for vehicles in its class, and what other vehicles have a hard time challenging. This year, the Camry is receiving a radical and complete redesign from head to tail, which is sure to impress drivers across Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, and Ormond Beach, FL.

So, what does this new sedan have to offer? Explore the redesign of the 2018 Toyota Camry—the options, features and new aesthetic—that’ll keep Toyota at the head of the class well into the future.

2018 Toyota Camry

The 2018 Toyota Camry is a stunning piece of engineering from a leading sedan. The new profile is athletic, sleek, and bold. It’s been made lower, longer, and wider, which creates a well-proportioned and well-balanced vehicle with better traction and a stiffer platform. The new double-wishbone rear suspension not only leads to better performance, but increased comfort inside, as well.

This suspension was first tested on the Prius and gained rave reviews in terms of comfort, road noise, steering, and handling. With a more luxurious platform to start from, the Toyota Camry stands to benefit even more, delivering an authoritative, comfortable, and quiet drive that’ll keep it solidly as a leader of the pack.

Powertrain & Performance

Speaking of performance, there are three powertrains available under the hood of the new Camry. The first is the new base engine, a 2.5L 4-cylinder that’s expected to deliver 200 horsepower. The second engine option is a 3.5L V6 that was used in the Highlander, and delivers 296 horsepower. Both of these are driven by an all-new 8-speed automatic transmission.

The final powertrain is a hybrid that pairs the 2.5L 4-cylinder with Toyota’s next-gen THS-II system, which runs on a continuously variable transmission regulated by dual electric motors, and features a Sport mode, which lets you simulate a 6-speed sequential. At the Sport Trim level, there will even be paddle shifters.

Both the 4-cylinder and the hybrid are expected to deliver best-in-class gas mileage.

Toyota Camry Trim Levels

It’s expected that the new Camry will maintain the standard four trim levels: the LE, XLE, SE, and XSE. It’s expected to have 10 airbags, a new revised Entune™ 3.0 multimedia infotainment system, and a safety suite that includes Frontal Collision Warning and Mitigation with automatic emergency braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure and Lane Keeping features, and automatic high beams.
