Entertainment and Connectivity

2018 Toyota RAV4The RAV4 comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth® connectivity, voice recognition technology, and a USB port. Siri® Eyes Free, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, navigation, HD radio™, an 11-speaker JBL® sound system, the Entune™ App Suite and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system are also available.

The Entune™ infotainment system has a clean, straightforward interface with intuitive menu options. It’s also compatible with many apps via the Entune™ App Suite, such as Pandora®, Slacker Radio, iHeartRadio, Yelp®, Facebook Places, and more, giving you access to streaming music and local information.

Siri® Eyes Free is an excellent feature for reducing driver distraction. This system enables voice control of a smart device, using the in-dash audio system. Using refined voice-recognition technology, you can speak naturally to operate your infotainment system or smart device, reducing the inconvenience of misinterpreted commands and the “robot speak” necessary with less-advanced systems.

Advanced Safety Technology

Every RAV4 model comes with a rearview camera and the Toyota Safety Sense™ P suite of safety features. This includes Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Front and rear parking sensor and Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert are available as well.

2018 Toyota RAV4 InteriorThese features can be grouped into two different functions, starting with the features designed to enhance visibility and decrease collisions. The rearview and surround-view cameras help you get a better view of what’s happening around your vehicle, particularly in areas that are normally obscured. Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is similar, but uses an additional alert system to warn you of any other vehicles or pedestrians in your path. These features are helpful for normal driving, as well as maneuvering around a parking lot, especially when equipped with parking sensors as well.

The other group of safety features is used to actively prevent a collision. Lane Departure Warning and Steering Assist work to keep you from drifting out of your lane on the highway, using a system of sensors that monitor the lane markers on either side. When these systems sense a drift, they will alert you and slowly guide you back into your lane. The Pre-Collision system with Pedestrian Detection works with alerts as well, but applies the brakes to actively prevent a crash or lessen the impact.
