2019 C-HR vs 2019 Escape: Fuel Economy

Toyota C-HR MPGIs there anyone who actually enjoys going to the station, filling up the tank, and paying for gas time and time again? While the answer is probably no, it’s something all drivers must live with. Why not find a model that has great efficiency, so you have to do it less?

The Toyota C-HR with its standard configuration presents a pretty impressive fuel economy. EPA estimates come in at 27 MPG in the city, 31 MPG on the highway, and a combined MPG of 29.* This lets you seamlessly hit the city streets, roam the open highway roads, and transition between them with fewer stops to refuel.

The Ford Escape falls a little short in comparison. Standardly, you will receive 15 city/22 highway/18 combined MPG, which is significantly lower than the Toyota model. Even when you upgrade to a different engine, the highest Escape mileage still offers less efficiency with 23 city/30 highway/26 combined.

Toyota C-HR vs Ford Escape: Safety

There’s no doubt that safety is crucial when you’re behind the wheel, which is why both the 2019 C-HR and Ford Escape pull through with a suite of safety features. These two models offer standard security with rearview cameras, vehicle stability control, and an advanced airbag system.

However, the C-HR takes it one step further with their suite of driving aids in the Toyota Safety Sense™ P system. Standard on all trims, you’ll receive a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Cruise Control.

Though the Escape does come standard with traditional cruise control, to receive systems that help with staying in your lane, increased visibility, and more you’ll have to move to the higher trims.

With the auto-dimming review mirror, you’ll never have to worry about the Florida sun getting in your eyes. The Ford Escape, on the other hand, doesn’t offer many of these handy features standardly.
