Basic Service Milestone - 5,000 Mile
At this time, your vehicle will start to experience the effects of daily driving. As part of your preventative maintenance and servicing, there are several things you should do.

Check recalls for your Toyota RAV4, and inspect your exterior light bulbs and floor mat installation, replace your engine oil and oil filter, inspect your front and rear brake components and check your fluid levels.

This is also a great time to rotate your tires, set your tire pressure, and monitor your tires’ condition and tread depth.

Intermediate Service Milestone -15,000 Miles

This interval comes around eighteen months, and requires a more thorough check of your vehicle. This will combine your regular 5,000-mile maintenance with some more involved tests.

Check your RAV4 recalls, exterior light bulbs, brake fluid condition, transfer case and differential fluids, and floor mat installation, and check your cooling system for leaks and operational issues. It’s also time for your routine engine oil and oil filter change.

At 15,000 miles, more thorough inspections of your major systems and components are needed. Inspect your front and rear brake components, fluid levels, drive axle boots, steering and suspension components, exhaust system, air filter, wiper blades, fuel lines and charcoal canister, and the cabin air filter.

This is also an opportunity to rotate your tires, set your tire pressure, monitor your tire’s condition and tread depth, and reset your dashboard warning and indicator lights.

Major Service Milestone - 30,000

At around the three-year mark, your vehicle may need more replacements of small components and thorough system checks. This maintenance will include the regular servicing and inspections, as well as some additional work.

Check your recalls, check or replace your exterior light bulbs, monitor the condition of your brake fluid, transfer case, and differential fluid, and check your cooling system for leaks or issues.

It’s also time for your routine engine oil and oil filter change, as well as a cabin air filter and engine air filter replacement.

Since you’ve been performing routine inspections of your major components, you’re unlikely to have any serious issues, but it’s still recommended that you visually inspect your brakes, engine components, steering and suspension components, and exhaust, and check your fluid levels

As with your basic and intermediate milestones, your vehicle should receive a tire rotation and tire inspection at this time, as well as having the dashboard warning lights reset.
