Minor Servicing-Six Months

Toyota Corolla Maintenance Schedule | Daytona ToyotaAt the six-month mark, your vehicle will begin to need replacements of some minor components and fluids, as well as some minor maintenance.

At this time, you should check for any campaigns and recalls involving your Toyota Corolla, replace the engine oil and oil filter, replace the drain plug gasket, and set your tire pressure.

It’s also recommended that you reset your maintenance reminder light, rotate your tires, and do a visual check of your wiper blades, brake linings and drums, and your exterior light bulbs. This is also a good time to do a visual inspection of your vehicle and make note of any issues, and check your fluid levels.

Intermediate Servicing-Eighteen Months

At eighteen months, you’ll need another routine replacement of your engine oil and oil filter, and your drain plug gasket. It’s also a good time to set your tire pressure, reset your maintenance reminder light, check your fluid levels, and rotate your tires.

In addition to your visual inspection of your wiper blades, brakes, and exterior lights, you should also inspect your ball joints, cooling system, exhaust system, and steering and suspension components. Any issues should be addressed by a service technician.

Major Servicing-Three Years

At three years, your vehicle will need more thorough inspections of its major systems and components. In addition to checking your brakes, fluids, exhaust system, steering and suspension components, exterior lights, tires, and wiper blades, you’ll also need to check your ball joints, cooling system, ignition wires, drive axle boots, fuel tank vapor vent system hoses, and your radiator and condenser.

It’s also time for an oil and oil filter change, a replacement drain plug gasket, a replacement cabin air filter, replacement spark plugs, and a replacement engine air filter.

Extreme Driving Conditions

Certain conditions shorten the life of specific vehicle parts or require more frequent fluid or filter changes.

Heavy traffic, dirt roads, and dusty or desert climates typically cause the cabin air filter to be replaced more frequently. If you experience reduced air flow from the heating or air-conditioning systems, you likely need a cabin air filter replacement.

The low-speed driving, traffic congestion, stop-and-go driving, or excessive idling that’s common with taxi services, delivery services, or police use shortens the life of the engine oil and air filter. If you use your car for similar purposes, consider more frequent replacements of your engine oil and air filter.
