Toyota Corolla LE vs SE

Toyota Corolla

The Toyota Corolla is a smart, sensible compact car that offers great gas mileage and smart safety features. So, it makes sense if you’ve decided it’s the right car for you—but which of its trim levels has what you’re looking for?

Daytona Toyota can help you decide. We’ve put together this Toyota Corolla LE vs. SE trim-levels comparison to help drivers in Daytona Beach, Palm Coast, Ormond Beach, and New Smyrna Beach, FL learn more about what each trim offers.

Performance Specs

Under the hood, the base trim Corolla LE looks strikingly similar to the step-up Corolla SE. Both trims run on a 2.0L 4-cylinder engine that features Dual Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i). This powertrain is designed to run smoothly and efficiently while providing 169 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque.

Each configuration also has standard front-wheel drive, as well as a Dynamic-Shift Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Where they differ is how much control you have over your drive. While the base trim includes Normal and Eco driving modes, the SE offers a more exciting option with Sport mode.

The Toyota Corolla LE cruises around on 16-inch steel wheels and features a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna. It’s streamlined design is just the beginning of its appealing aesthetic. A Black front grille, LED headlights, and LED Daytime Running Lights round things out up front, while the rear is equipped with LED taillights and stop lights.

Additionally, the LE includes power-heated side mirrors to get rid of any condensation. You can also add an available moonroof to brighten up your drive.

On top of offering a third, more exciting selectable driving mode, the Toyota Corolla SE also features a more performance-inspired appearance. It starts with a sport mesh gloss-Black front grille and a set of 18-inch wheels with a graphite finish.

To leave a lasting impression, this trim comes with Gray metallic sport side rocker panels, a rear spoiler, a dual-chrome tip exhaust, and a spoiler. For an even edgier look, you can add an available Black antenna or Black 2-tone roof.

Inside the Toyota Corolla LE, you’ll find seating for five on comfortable cloth seats. To help you kick back and relax, a 6-way adjustable driver’s seat and 4-way adjustable front-passenger seat are both standard. You can also use the 60/40 split-folding rear seats for extra cargo room.

The Toyota Corolla SE continues its sports ways with sport seats with sport fabric inserts, a leather-trimmed 3-spoke steering wheel, and metallic interior trim with Chrome interior door handles.

Both configurations come with an 8-inch dashboard monitor for the infotainment system. However, the SE adds additional amenities that you may find useful, including a Smart Key System and a push-button start.
