Leading the charge for both of these sedans is undoubtedly their powerful performance, smooth handling, and remarkable fuel efficiency.

Right out of the gate, it’s no easy feat for the turbocharged 1.6L 4-cylinder engine of the K5 to compete with the standard 2.5L 4-cylinder engine of the Camry. While you still get 180 horsepower out of the K5, the Camry casually crushes that with 203 horsepower of its own.

Although the two have very different engine outputs, their handling is practically the same as they share 8-speed automatic transmissions.

When it comes to fuel economy, the two come in fairly level once again. In the Toyota Camry, you’ll see an EPA-estimated 28 city/39 highway MPG, and 29 city/38 highway MPG in the Kia K5.*

While their fuel economies are essentially the same, the Camry allows you to take it to new heights with its hybrid options. Depending on which of the four available hybrid Camry trim levels you choose, you’ll see either an EPA-estimated 51 city/53 highway MPG or an EPA-estimated 44 city/47 highway MPG.* Unfortunately, the Kia K5 doesn’t provide any hybrid options or the chance to improve fuel efficiency.
