Vibrating Brakes or Steering Wheel

If you ever experience a vibrating sensation as you press down on the brakes or feel the steering wheel move in an uncharacteristic manner, this can point to brake rotor issues. Your rotors are essential in helping bring your vehicle to a stop, but they understandably endure some wear and tear on the surface. When at the repair shop, the rotor surface can be inspected and smoothed out accordingly.

It’s also important to note that this vibration might not be the brakes at all, but rather your wheel alignment. Technicians can check both possibilities when you arrive for your appointment.

More Force Needed When Braking

When you press on the brake pedal, you often have to exert a certain amount of force, especially when coming to a quicker stop. However, there may be times when you notice that the brakes don’t display the same amount of resistance as before. Instead, the brake feels more “spongy” or as though it sinks right under the weight of your foot.

This signals an issue with your braking system, whether it’s an air leak from a hose or a fluid leak from the master cylinder. If it’s the latter, you may also notice the fluid leaking from your car–a sure symptom that a repair is needed.
